In November 2013, our son, Samuel McMurray, began a two year term of service in the Nebraska Omaha Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. This is a record of his experiences there (with annotations by his father).

We had a pretty miraculous week; great street
contacts, great teaching moments, and a promising new investigator. We were
walking a new route to our appointment and a woman who was working on her car
asked us if we were Jehovah's Witnesses. We replied that we were missionaries
for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and struck up a
conversation. She expressed that she was a Christian but wasn't a member of any
particular church and was earnestly seeking for truth. A conduit burst open as
we explained the basic points of the Restoration and the Plan of Salvation, not
a lot of fluff (which I unfortunately tend to do), but the basic truths. She
was getting goosebumps; the Spirit was so powerful and tangible. We gave her a
Book of Mormon and will be seeing her later this week.
As we press forward to improve, we're seeing
the blessings come. We hope that y'all have a wonderful week.
