Transfers

Hey, y'all!

Well, another transfer has come and gone and I wish Elder (I mean Tucker) Smith well in his post-mission endeavors.  I'm staying in Eagle Run with Elder Stoker, who came up from Bellevue.  We're looking forward to working together and we've already had some awesome experiences!

I send you my love, thoughts, and prayers and hopes for a wonderful week!

A Farewell to Elder Smith and A January Thaw

Is the snowman sad because he's melting in the unseasonably warm weather, or because Elder Smith has finished his mission and gone home?  A little of both, my friends.  A little of both.

Hey, y'all!

Well, Elder Smith has finished his mission.  Those last six weeks just flew by.  It was a sweet departure, but we're both looking forward to the future.  I'm with one of the Fremont missionaries, Elder Andersen, for at least a few days.  He actually came out with me and he's a good guy.  We find out where we'll be Thursday.

Things are going well; we're working hard but the weather's been super mild for the past week and will probably be so for at least another week.  No worries.  I'm enjoying the work and I hope that things continue to go well.

I hope that y'all are doing likewise.  I love you and wish you a good week.

Transfers are Thursday.  Hard to say what's up ahead...

Birthday Elder

Hey, y'all!

Today I'm celebrating my second birthday in the mission field!  It's hard to believe that it's been 14 months -- time is flying by!

A challenging but rewarding past week as we're continuing to help members get fired up about missionary work.  We had a particularly powerful team-up and are taking more advantage of the resources that are available to us, especially the Mormon Trail Center, which is now showing Meet the Mormons every night.  A nice perk, legally getting to watch a movie on your mission.

We've got some good birthday stuff planned for today.  I hope that y'all have a wonderful week and I thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Elder McMurray

Happy New Year!

Hey, y'all!

A challenging week but a very rewarding one.  Our Ward Mission Leader commended us for our efforts and one of the missionaries remarked, "This is the best ward I've ever served in."  He's been out for almost a year-and-a-half.  We've been doing great work.

Thanks for all of your cards and emails over the holidays. It's good to hear that everyone seems to be doing well.  It's cold up here (10 degrees Fahrenheit) and snowy.  I'm loving it!!!!  This is the view from our apartment this morning:

We're looking forward into the new year with, "quiet confidence" as Boyd K. Packer so beautifully put it and we hope y'all are as well.
